Topre 'inerasable' legends

Does anyone else find them very erasable? It's not like I use them all the time but the Topres I use seem to be wearing off a lot quicker than e.g. the Filco's I've also got sprinkled around the place. Due to the number I have I doubt it's an isolated problem - but I was wondering if this is a batch defect or something.

My white Realforce doesn't have a hint of wear on the keys other than some spaghetti sauce i'm too lazy to clean up. In the same amount of time both my Filcos were getting quite shiny.

I've been using a white 87u as my main keyboard for a year and the keys look as good as the day I bought the board. I believe they are dye-dub PBT, so they should be quite durable.

Hmmm. I only have the black ones with the 'gold' legends and there's definite wear. Keys also seem to go shiny faster than Filco too (I guess that wouldn't be as apparent with white)...?

Not understanding why they'd charge the same for crappy keycaps... I guess I can buy replacement subbed ones when these go then.

If it is indeed the Leopold, it still uses PBT plastic caps. I can understand the frustration with this when dropping $200+ on a keyboard; but all things considered, not being dye subbed is honestly not that big of a deal unless you want to resell.

Consider the wearing of the caps a sign of love.

Nope, my Topres are all-Realforce.

I absolutely appreciate that - the question is due to the simple fact that the legends are wearing down faster than anything else in my inventory, cheapo Dell domes included.

You're not one of those Geekhack weirdos, right 😱
