I have some spare parts that I will be using to build a router/gateway with one of the Linux or BSD SOHO router/gateway distros like PFSense, Monowall, etc... and I just need a case and power supply.

I found this one here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811237025

Here is what I will be running:

*Gigabyte MA74GM-S2 Micro-ATX motherboard

*AMD Sempron 145 Sargas 2.8GHz AM3 CPU

*1 stick of 1GB of DDR2 RAM

*1 compact flash card as the storage device

* a couple of fans

* Integrated video

This is a very low power low end build. Now my question is, will the power supply that comes with this case be ok, or is it some terrible quality one that will destroy even a very low powered system like this?

The thing with cheap PSUs is that it's chance of failure is unpredictable. You're basically playing russian roulette.

The PSU could:
- outlive you (chance of this is like winning the lottery several times)
- be DOA
- fail in the first month
- fail the nth month
-fail in the nmth month
etc. etc. or it could work fine for it's entire lifetime before it's replaced.
Do you want to risk unpredictable downtime? Can you get a replacement easily? Do you mind the fact that upon failure, it could damage things connected to it?

Choice is up to you, if you want to risk it. Personally, I wouldn't. A Corsair CX430 is like 25$.

That PSU is garbage, it has a Topower UL number but it was built by Leadman. It is a horrible power supply that won't be able to do its wattage, and will have insanely high ripple, and the fans are loud regardless of having a fan controller, and the fans barely have any grease in the bearings so they probably won't last long. The capacitors are ChengX, and the heatsinks are tiny. It wouldn't destroy your parts right away but it would wear them out faster than a good PSU due to the ripple.
