Hi. I built my rig and now I want to move to crossfire. What an addiction.
My question basically is if you think a 500watt Topower 500PTX can support a second 4850... The PSU does not have another PCI-E connector, but has a Y cable to convert two of the regular connectors into another PCI-E connector.
I also have a E8500, ASus P5Q P45 mobo, 2 sata drives, 4 x 1gb PC2-800, a DVD drive, CPU fan and two case fans and the first 4850's fan is aftermarket so it runs off the mobo too...
Im guessing its cutting it close but opinions are welcome.
EDIT: Im an idiot with an addiction. Therefore Im going to run out right now and buy another 4850. If the 500w doesnt work, I guess ill be making another trip and spending more $$$. Ill let you know the results!
