I've just finished building a desktop in the Corsair 500R case.
It comes w/ 2 front mounted 140mm fans, one side mounted 200mm fan, and one 120mm rear-exhaust fan. There are also two top-120/140mm mounting points, and a bottom 120/140mm mounting point. The front and bottom fans/mounts are filtered, and I'm planning on getting a filter for the 200mm side fan.
I'm a little concerned that my CPU fan and exhaust fan will just be pulling air from the top vents, rather than exhausting hot air from the case, based on their placement, and indeed, when I put a piece of paper nearby the top vents it does seem like air is being sucked into them. I also think this is a dust risk since I have kitties and the top vents are unfiltered.
From a cooling perspective, would it be best to cover/block these vents with a piece of metal/plastic/cardboard?
