Top robotics places in the country

Irobot for military/consumer
fanuk and kawaski are both good size. ( both in michigan)
our university had a few labs with 6 axis robots for different classes and 2 of our profs have a business building automated machinery for metal matrix composite manufacturing, including things like turbine blades and space shuttle components.

i am sure most major uni's have robotics classes, not sure who has specific degrees though.

MIT, Carnegie Mellon, and George Washington University are probably the top 3, possibly the Rochester Institute of Technology as well.

those are both good industrial robot makers along with ABB and Motoman. Those are mostly what we use at work.

Motoman, ABB, Fanuc.

And I will tell you from personal experience, they all suck corporate wise.
