Top Gear Vid: M3 vs S4 and Best Motoring Vid: 350Z vs G35c vs M3

Inspired by the G35 vs M3 thread... 😀

Top Gear: M3 vs S4 ...might be a slow server... i was topping out at 90k... save target as please. 🙂

Best Motoring: 350Z vs G35c vs M3... slow server for sure... topping out at 55k... 79MB... and if you don't want to download it... M3s power advantage comes into play in this one. I think this vid was posted before.

Here's Descartes' thread with the M3 vs Everyone vid that was posted earlier... M3s power advantage doesn't do much here... plus IIRC it had crappy tires. 🙂

M3 and S4....both beautiful cars. I disagree with his country music mentality of the S4 though, it can be driven just as hard 😛

Is the G35 Coupe here the same as the Skyline in Japan? I mean is everything from engine to suspension system etc identical?

Yup, the G35 is the same exact car here as in Japan other than minor stuff like badging and options. It does a decent job of keeping up with the M3 on Tsukuba circuit. Then again a properly tuned R34 Skyline GTR turned in a 1:00 flat! :Q

Gimme the 2.7L TT S4 anyday over the V8... mmmmmboost.

SCHWEET!!! Yah I am with yah KokomoGST a Nissan R34 Skyline GTR Type M or the Nur Specced one would do me just fine... I don't mind a M3 though the practicality of a sedan coupled with the performance of a sports car.

Thanks for the links... I might grab the Best Motoring DVD if you comes out with that on it.

Strange that the 4.2v8 AWD Audi can't do a straight line as fast as a 3.2 I6 RWD BMW.... What's up with THAT?

Isn't the M3 a coupe? 😉

TopGear seems to be a tad gentle on the clutches of AWD cars... but then the Stig doesn't seem to be usually. They gotta LAUNCH them SOBs. Forget cooking the clutch! Properly launched you should have seen the S4 take a huge jump forward... even in Best Motoring's drag race betw an F1 and GTR, the GTR got a big jump off the line thanks to Nissan's AWD system.

umm...i thought the G35 coupe is similar to the 350Z? (both are based on the same rwd platform and stuff)
the skyline is a completely different monster, and even uses a different engine (the RB series vs the VQ's i think)

if i'm wrong, tell me why 🙂

The Skyline you're referring to is the GT-R... they stopped production on that this year or last year IIRC. There is supposed to be a new GT-R in the works. The current regular Skyline is the G35. 🙂

It was actually Jeremy Clarkson driving the McLaren.

JDM spec skyline doesn't get the Michelin Pilot Sports the G35 gets so the G would hold the corners even better. Other than that, pretty much identical.
