Top Gear USA gets competitor

It'll be interesting to see how this pans out. I do like both Adam Carolla and Matt Farah (From Garage419/The Smoking Tire). I didn't know John Salley was into cars, but if Top Gear USA's hosts are any indication, it doesn't really matter.

I saw this. Still wish Carolla could have been part of the Top Gear crew...but actually I like that he has his own show as I think he will have more direction over where the show goes creatively which will be nice to have something different than the Top Gear formula. I'm hoping they get some decent funding (and the resulting production quality) to make this show fun. I hope it has less "scripted" stuff and more of Corolla's in the moment wise cracks.
 
There's definitely potential. Carolla is really a brilliant comic mind IMO, and he isn't afraid to speak his mind. I actually think it may benefit from being on Speed rather than a more popular network because it might give him more comic free rein. Dan Neil is a talented writer, though I have no idea how he will present on-air, and I like Farah well enough. Spider Salley is a very bright and entertaining guy as well. Just based on the cast this show will likely be better than Top Gear USA right out of the gate.
 
I don't care for Dan Neil, either on TV or his writing. To me he's an insufferable blowhard with little passion for cars. But I'll give it a whirl.

Carolla could almost carry the show himself, like a Jay Leno's garage type of thing. In any case, I'm eager to try it out.
 
I've never heard of Matt Farah but I love Carolla and know John Salley from NBA but don't know how good he'd be. Anything has to be better than Top Gear. The hosts really suck in Top Gear.

The bits aren't any better than the hosts quite honestly (Top Gear USA of course).
 
Good riddance, I hope they put Top Gear USA down the tubes. I saw an ad for it last week and it was a bunch of idiots being tools.

Top Gear UK and Australia are amazing because of the off the cuff chemistry and humor that they offer. Top Gear USA is a bunch of gungho morons.
 
There's a show with Adam Carolla in it? About cars? Awesome!

I remember seeing a short clip of the pilot awhile back, looked good.

Carolla also has a podcast strictly for cars, Carcast.
