Top Exhaust Fans - Sleeve Bearing Question

I know this is a topic that has been discussed time and time again. I've read the articles and posts that say sleeve bearing fans are more effective and last longer running vertically. I've recently purchased two Prolimatech Blue Vortex 14 fans. My plan was to run one as a side intake and one as a top exhaust.

My question is if the same holds true for all sleeve bearing fans running horizontally, or is it based on quality of the fan itself?

Also, does anyone has any experience with these fans in their rig?

Interesting that you didnt mention anything about cleanliness (ie, keeping dust out of the fan). Dirt, RPM and number of running hours and even the size of the fan (besides mechanism quality) would be factors. Fans arent that expensive, so if one goes bad or becomes too noisy then just replace it. If it is going to be run for long hours in a dirty environment and silence is important, then a ball bearing unit should be a better choice.

The intakes all have filters, and the fans will be running for 8-12 hours a day most likely. I guess I can just use them and replace them if they go. The BV-14's only cost $11 for me and can be found for $8 at SVC.
