Top End Soundcards

I'm hoping somebody can recommend a sound card to me. I've been looking at the Audigy 2, the Hercules Digifire 7.1 and the Philips Acoustic Edge. The card will be used mainly for watching DVDs - help! The Hercules seems cheap for what it offers, has anybody heard it?

From what I have heard the M-audio Revolution link
is among the best for audio playback.

But I've also heard that unless you have very high-end speakers you really can't tell the difference among the cards you listed.

this is coming from someone using onboard sound and some $10 speakers though

Hercules/Guillemot makes awesome soundcards for the price.

I agree, for the best price/performance ratio, go for the Hercules
