Number 1
'Star Trek' (Original)
And topping the list is classic 'Star Trek,' which aired just three seasons from 1966-69. Yes, perhaps it didn't feature the best acting, or most compelling story plots, but it was a show that set the standard for future space epics since. The show is also more popular today than it was when it first ran on air. The show went on to inspire several movies, several spinoffs and hordes of fans.

Number 2

'Battlestar Galactica' (New)

Number 3

'Star Trek: The Next Generation'

Number 4

'The X-Files'

Number 5
'Babylon 5'

Number 6

'Stargate SG-1'

Number 7

'The Twilight Zone'

Number 8
'Dr. Who'

Number 9

'Mystery Science Theater 3000'

Number 10

'Sliders'

That is the top ten...there is the top 50 with a description

the first season was good. That's all I saw when I was a kid, but I heard it went to sh!t afterwards

check out the shows below it

I think EFC deserves better than 50th place. sure the last season or two (with those atvsus) were horrible but it was pretty good before that.

stargate atlantis and firefly both being below voyager (with no DS9) is just wrong.

and xena is way too high and imo lost isnt SCIFI.

I think it's premature to rank the new BSG as 2nd top science fiction show. Right now I think it's the best Sci-Fi show, but in my book it's gonna take another couple of seasons like this to surpass Star Trek TNG.

futurama is FOURTY ONE?!?

from where does the boston globe draw the authority to rank sci-fi shows? this is worse than one of those "best of" music lists, as it's just... crap. i'm not even going to bother reading the rest.h

Sorry... No "Blake's 7", no dice... game over.

How can anyone overlook "Blake's 7" for such a list?

I can't believe 3rd rock from the sun is on there. That's a sitcom.

Seems they were just trying to fill up space really. They should have made it a top 20 or something.
