Canadian beer is over rated, I see city brewery makes a little canadian beer.

yep city brewery almost died, saved by some people that cared. it wasn't all about jobs and money, pride and tradition was part of it too
at the time there was too much capacity in the big league, miller bud etc didn't need it. the brewery was too big for a micro brewery to buy and use.
I also wondered why some big importer didn't buy it and brew there beer here to save money and give us fresher beer, at the time it was considered to be in the top 10 breweries world wide from a modern and Efficiency standpoint.

Awesome, two of my favorite beers, brewed within 50 miles of my house, made the top 20.

Yuengling at 6 and Lion at 17.

Interesting link. Wisconsin would have one more on that list if Pabst wouldn't have ran out on us years back. I'm wondering what City Brewing Co of LaCrosse makes that puts them that high on the list? And long live the Leines, and the wonderful $2 pitchers of it on Friday nights here in Madison!

Are you talking about Madhatters or somewhere else?

I frequent Brothers, but I've done Madhatters in the past.

Canada has Unibroue...and that's about it for their good beer.

It sucks that the piss beers are on top. Maybe eventually people will come to their senses and start buying more flavorful ber.

It's primarily a price thing from what I can tell. I have an uncle who drinks the beast like it's water. He has grown accustomed to the taste and buys it because it's cheap. Unfortunately, not everybody drinks beer for the flavor.

Leine's Honey Weiss isn't a bad beer. You should have tried some of New Glarus Brewing Companies stuff. All bow before the Spotted Cow!

this obviously does not rank by how much beer is actually produced at a facility, as coor's brewery in golden is the biggest in the world ranked by how much they produce at the one facility. this is lumping all the facilities that any brand has into just the one main site. for instance, anheuser-busch has a giant facility on the east side of houston that dwarfs the shiner facility any way you measure it. and miller has a pretty big brewery in ft worth.

i wonder why spoetzl brewery isn't included in the 'craft' segment?
