Although half of Metallica's hit songs are both the best (fun-wise) and the worst (safety-wise) songs to listen to while driving, I'd say Master of Puppets causes me to drive the most dangerous.
They should make it illegal to play that song on the radio. It just about puts me to sleep every time I hear it. Great song, but damn does it make me sleepy.
I was just thinking about this as I was driving through an intersection earlier. I listen to MetallicA (Justice & Puppets) all the time in my car and I recall one time I didn't hear sirens blaring coming from a 45-degree intersection... I went through it as I had the green but just as soon as I completed my turn I saw flashing lights everywhere in my rear-view. That was pretty close... they sped right past me as I got into the right lane.
As I was driving through an intersection tonight, I was thinking how if there were a car chase... I wouldn't even hear a siren to warn of the potential danger... very open to some t-bone action especially if I'm just looking straight ahead.
The solution isn't to turn down the music... just look before crossing. 😉
