Ill keep it short.
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance:it is short,but this game/series has some great potential.A fine example of a well balanced game all around.If you like Diablo,get a friend and get this game!

Nights into Dreams:Again a short experience, but brilliant play mechanics and wonderfully realized worlds.Just a joy to play.


Pikmin😛layful yet very challenging.A refreshing change of pace.

Daikatana Multiplayer:The very 1st demo was awesome,two maps,lethal speed..great 1v1 matches.The final release was a bomb single player and the multi suffered from the lame revisions to weapons/attributes.
If you like quake 2,and are running win9x,hunt down the original demo(not the 104mb one)(approx 30mb)....its a blast with two people.
Rocket Jumps and strafe jumping physics rule.

Descent

Best games I have ever played, bar none. Incredibly addicting and very challenging. Much more intense than any groundpounder FPS game.
 
Battlezone. I liked the original more than Battlezone II, but they were both great.
 
XG3 - not many peopel liked it it was kinda simple. but MAN it was so fun especially whyen things went supersonic
Pong - peopel just dont realize how much fin this is. especially teh new 3d ones where you can spin teh ball

HOLY CRAP!!! Imagine Descent mixed with Unreal Tournament 2003 bombing run!! and even capture the flag?! Wow, /me has an awesome idea. I am totally hooked on Bombing Run, btw.

underrated games:

UT2k3 bombing run
Cybermage (old as hell)
San Fransisco Rush 2049 (coolest racing game EVAR)
Twisted Metal 2 (better than all the others, TM3 and TM4)
Super Mario Brothers (rocked NES, yo!)
 
Deadly Dozen & Deadly Dozen 2: Pacific Theater. Great games and definitely underrated. A lot of people don't even know they exist.

Codename Eagle: It was quite fun multiplayer, especially over a LAN.
 
Outlaws - Chunky graphics even by Q1 era standards, but still the best soundtrack I've heard for a game; perfect music for the western theme and high production value on the soundtrack at a time when music on games was an afterthought.

Thief - Yeah it was highly acclaimed and got rave reviews, but most people I know who play FPS never played it. I can't wait for the third one.

Do you really mean "underrated" or do you mean "great game that nobody played?"

Clive Barker's "Undying" PC game. Just finished it. Scared the hell outta me. I think it uses the Quake 3 engine, but I'm not sure. Creepiest atmosphere in a game ever.

Privateer 2: The Darkening
Porruskurvat (the game where you shove a stickman down the stairs - found it courtesy of ATOT)
 
Tribes 1 and Tribes 2, Love them both.

Most Overrated: Half Life/CS...I like almost every FPS but NEVER thought Half Life was anything special.
 
Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear

People said the graphics sucked...well, they weren't the best, they were decent, but damn the gameplay was/is amazing! 😀
