Knights of the Old Republic, by far. One of the best games ever IMO(arguably the best).

Rise of Nations was very good, actually pulled me away from Sacrifice for several months.

Jedi Knight III: Jedi Academy- not as good as the second one, and they should have had some warning that the difficulty had been dialed way back from JKII, but still one of the best games this year IMO.

F-Zero GX- Still having a blast with this one.

I'll leave the fifth slot open, there are a few more titles I've been meaning to pick up that may be up to par. A lot of the highly anticipated titles this year were rather large let downs for me(Zelda WW was flat out bad as an example), either that or games that I really had a lot of fun with didn't come out this year(WarCraftIII, Zelda OoT(Cube port), Halo(PC port, I would count this except I've had it on the XBox for a couple of years now). Looking over all the games I've picked up this year, I've been buying a lot of games that came out in years past that I never got around to getting.

Max Payne 2
Frozen Throne
Rise Of Nations
Silent Hill 3
Vice City

the only game that actually took my breath away because its everything I want to do.........

Splinter Cell

He needed a nice Katana strapped to his back though for that critical time when a gun just doesn't do the job.

#2 would be Halo

I am about to load Knights of the Old Republic

PC;
Max Payne 2 (good while it lasted)
Splinter Cell (only game thats ever been vagely challenging, and its very tense)
JK3: Jedi Academy (double bladed LS, very cool)
GTA: Vice City (Spent hours exploring)
And when it works (for anyone else, i got it working perfectly), Deus Ex2. Its amazing when you look past some of its flaws.

GameCube
Zelda: The Wind Waker (A good followup to OOT. Good use of gfx as well)
F-Zero GX (Amazingly fast)
1080* Avalanche (Just a cool game, with an amazing soundtrack)

Finally, someone that sees it like I do. If everyone played Raven Shield, Counter-Strike would cease to exist. Just for effect, I'll again say what I have said many times before:

Raven Shield is far better than Counter-Strike. Everyone should stop playing Counter-Strike and start playing Raven Shield. Trust me.

Edit: It's also the best game of the year, hands down. Games that take 5-10 hours to complete simply cannot compare.

Nobody mentioned Vietcong. Great action, but not TOO realistic. Plus it has the best co-op!
Splinter Cell was very engaging for a while, but I just got bored of it.
Vice City was a riot, I just wish they could fix some of the texture problems.

Halo blew, despite it being a new game for me. I was really having fun for the first few levels, but then they became horribly repetitive and boring. Every once in a while there would be a new vehicle to drive/fly around and I'd have a bit of fun until you had to get out and go back to another repetitive area. I never thought I'd reach the end of some levels. The fact that it ran like crap didn't help, and neither did the subtraction of co-op play (what the hell were they thinking???)

i see a bunch of CoD mentioned on lists.
isn't that game a reproduction of WWII?
people seemed to really like BF1942, but i didn't see the attraction.
should i try out CoD? i'm not into strategy.

Would probably be on my list if I had them:
Max Payne 2
Call of Duty

What I've played:
Unreal 2---this game was given a bad rap for not being a remake, too bad
Rise of Nations----for years I wanted a RTS, Civilization, Risk combo game, RoN is not quite what I had in mind, but it comes damn close

Halo is a torture. Didn't complete the game at the last part when u need to drive a buggy out of the complex.

The game can be speed up by changing the renderer. You can use PS2.0, 1.4, 1.1 or FixedFunc.

BF1942 is game of the year in 200?. Seems the genre appeals to masses.

My favorite game is cock & balls.

It relaxs me, while still stimulating me enough to keep cuming back for another round.

The controller is a perfect fit and the benWa balls level the playing field. But its ALOT better in the one on one vs. mode. PunTata can take every hit I can muster, Ill conquer this opponet eventually I know. Ive almost made it though before Orgasima leveled me to a soft, wet useless pile of flesh.

Definatitly the BEST GAME OF THE YEAR!!!!

IMHO 2003 was very weak for PC games... nothing of any substance out there. Companies all seem to be relying on on-line play to make games. Temple of Elemental Evil had potential but bugs and extremely short gameplay killed it for me. I played it for about 15 days and then traded it in. Call of Duty is amazing to me with some of the best AI, but again as some others have said it was too short. The on-line play, which I have not tried, is its only hope and games like Americas Army are probably better and free.

The games I am currently playing the most of are: Neverwinter Nights and Medieval. Yes, I like FPS games but there have been few of merit this year.
