I have battled with myself over 144hz, 1440p, and since I'm a slow rpg, mmo player I want more real estate. But I also want one somewhat designed for gaming. I am looking for something in the ~250-350 range. There seems to be too many options and was looking for any input from real owners out there. Thanks.

Yeah it will still run fine, you just won't get the tear-free experience. At some point nvidia will enable freesync on their GPUs as well, so you'll probably be able to use it with future Nvidia GPUs if you get one.

Also, note that some of the freesync monitors will go up to 75Hz with AMD cards but only 60Hz with NVIDIA cards.

People have said they had no issue changing it. I don't see why it would be locked for Nvidia anyway since there is nothing in the spec that is vendor specific or hardware required by AMD.
