Top 25 World Team Report and Analysis
There have been lots of action lately among the top 25 teams. I don't know where they are going but some of the Top 25 have lost a substantial number of members and Seti Work Units.
Look at SETI.Germany: In the last 7 days they have lost 677,071 WUs! :Q
Then there was Sun Microsystems losing 70,489 WUs and Planet 3DNow! losing 34,380 WUs! :Q :Q
And Compaq Computer Corporation still shows a negative 30 day Avg. :Q
There was a stir this morning when Forum Hardware.FR Team showed up with 50,000+ WUs add to their totals. Upon further, detailed investigation it appears this large jump was caused by the return of a member with 43,554 WUs who had left 12 days ago. Notice the 30 day Avg and you will see we are still beating them at a rate of around 1,000 WUs @ day.
Our own numbers have declined due primarily to the Berkeley bandwidth problem which hopefully will be resolved in the new 100 MBit pipe sometime next week.
Our bigget producer, CyGoR and Cobra, have stopped doing new WUs during the last couple of weeks due to the inability to upload/download WUs from Berkeley. They intend to start again when Berkeley completes the new internet connection. That is going to increase our daily average somewhere between 400 - 500 WUs.
My projected "Catch Date" still indicates The Knights Who Say Ni! will be the next team we pass sometime in October with Team Art Bell falling very shortly after.
Who do you think we will pass first?
