Completely irrelevant and has no meaning whatsoever at this point in time, but it's interesting to see how things stack up now..

6 teams from the Pac-10 are ranked, and 8 received at least a vote. Last year's title game contenders OSU and Florida are nowhere to be found.

Should be an interesting year..until March begins at least.

OSU and Florida are in the Other Receiving Votes section. My only prediction right now is that USC will not be that high in two months. OJ Mayo is already causing problems on that team. Their chemistry is going to suck and they will suffer from Mayo's big ego.

Where did you hear about OJ Mayo causing problems?

There should not be polls until after at least the third or fourth week of the season. College football's pre-season poll constantly demonstrates that.

I guess ESPN would be down on that since they cant play up the highly ranked game of the week.

"The Los Angeles Daily News quoted multiple sources insisting the pickup game last month that ended with Trojans guard Daniel Hackett's broken jaw did not involve an errant Mayo Elbow -- but rather a punch that found its target. Both players continue to insist it was an accident. "

If USC lives up to that ranking... it will be at a cost. The SC team last year was built on good team chemistry, and I don't see OJ Mayo buying into it. The sole reason for him to pick SC was because UCLA would never pick him up... and he needed the attention, so he picked the biggest market he could to have his "one and done" year.

Isn't there a rule that High School players can't go straight to the NBA anymore? That's probably why UCLA didn't want him, because they knew it was 1 and out.

And I think that's the risk that USC took. Plus, Collison is a solid PG, and Mayo would have to play behind him and Shipp SG/SF.

he's also not really a ben howland type of player. i don't think he would fit in that well in this system. timmy will let him do whatever.

OJ Mayo wanted the star treatment Reggie Bush received. That's why he went to USC. I know he's like a team cancer, but I really wanted him to come play with Bill Walker and Michael Beasley at K-State..
