Everytime I open my Dell, the lcd hinge creaking gets worse and worse. It's becoming embarrasing in class. Everyone has Macbooks that open without making a sound.

I'm gonna spray it down with WD-40 if it doesn't stop. Anyone know the solution? It's an 8600.

My Latitude D610 keeps ejecting little plastic balls from the hinge area. I'd guess that your Dell is doing that too. Mine doesn't make noise yet, but those balls get in the keyboard and then I can't press a key down.

Through a hilarious turn of events, you end up spraying the WD-40 backwards into your mouth, and die of WD-40 poisoning.

Those are just woah.

I never knew people could actually die from laughing.

I've had a few laughing fits where I didn't think I could stop. Guess it was lucky I did.

Is number 2 really a strange death. I don't think that a man and a chair vanishing after a giant explosion is really a mystery. It's not like we've seen the guy floating in outer space.

He provavly had a heart condition and the stress of laughing for so long caused an attack. A healthy person won't die from laughter. The only thing that might happen is they laugh so hard they can't breath in, pass out (and stop laughing) and regain consciousness a few seconds later.

I had the same lcd hinge problem in my 8500... It was under warranty at the time.

The Dell Tech just took off the lcd bezel, and tightened a couple of screws there, near the hinge.

Amazingly, It had solved my problem.

If you need service manuals on how to take off the bezel, search Dell Supports site or PM me..

Best of Luck
