Top 10 Reasons Intel will not Participate in the Dual-Core Duel

10. Tried to follow their own roadmap to get to the duel
9. Decided to take the "front-side bus" to the duel; got stuck in a bottleneck
8. The "Intel Inside" stickers they used to package the cores together keep melting
7. Too busy rearranging the deck chairs on the Itanic
6. "Hey, we don't expect anyone to actually buy these things!"
5. Didn't want to compete when they realized that the duel would involve actual "rules" of fair competition
4. They couldn't get a permit from the fire department to emit that much heat
3. No systems available yet - protective clothing used by manufacturers only safe for up to 149 watts
2. Dell told them they weren't allowed to participate

And the number one reason Intel won't accept the dual core duel:

1. Moore's Law has been replaced by "Paul's Paradox": the number of canceled products per year at Intel will double every year after the introduction of the AMD Opteron processor.

:D I like number 5. Out of all of the outrageous reasons I find that one most likely to be true just based on precedent ;)

#9 is such a tricky pun I only got it the after the third read-through. Those AMD folks are a witty bunch, that's for sure. And they have the benchmarks to back up all that boasting, so I don't have a problem with it.

Funny. All true points. But seems childish.

Why not use some of this wit and creativity in their TV ads. Then they could get somewhere.

This refers to AMD's suite of monopoly/anti-trust stuff against Intel. i.e. breaking the rules

Funny stuff. Good to see a bit of light-hearted dirt throwing going on by AMD at Intel. AMD are in the driver's seat in terms of performance; hopefully this type of thing is an indication of their (newfound) competitive spirit, and not simply hubris.

Yeah, except almost no one here feels Intel has the better chips right now ;)

I don't know why people hate Inq so much. Most of their stuff comes out to be true and they go on the principle of refusing to go under NDA with info.

Because 99.9999% of the people who see them would not have a clue why those were funny. I, on the otherhand, think it was hilarious!
