top 10 PS2 games?

In your opinion what would you say is the top 10 PS2 games thats well worth buying? If your to lazy to type them up you can just list the top 5 .

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (EVERY OTHER version of that game sucks - trust me, its much better on the ps2 gameplay wise)
Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake Eater/Subsistence
Resident Evil 4 (didnt play it yet)

I think that is hard. Despite how much people bash the Ps2 in terms of its graphics ...it seriously has a huge library of absolute gems...

I don't think there is any absolute list for the top 10 Ps2 games because there are literally....THAT many "TOP" games for the system that is comes down to the styles of play the user may love.

for my tastes I'm heavy on RPGs soooo:

FFX (I was playing it the other day...for those who diss on Ps2 graphics this game is absolutely freaking incredible in the detail and textures)
Lunar 3
Tekken Tag
Katamari Damacy
MGS2 (again...graphics are incredible to me)
Gt4
KingDom HEarts...although I haven't played it but I know everyone loves this game

It's just a very good game, original, refreshing and fun. Rent/buy it and enjoy.

Final Fantasy X (not even close to the best FF title, but it's still good)
Dragon Quest VIII

SSX3 (something to break up all these adventure and RPG games)
Ratchet and Clank (pick the 2nd or 3rd in the series)
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (my favorite GTA, nostalgia for the PC/PS1 original aside)

If I started with part 2(guessing its going commando) would I be lost as far as the story if I skip the first?

I only played the first one, I think you might want to start with the 3rd one actually unless you're planning to play all 3. I don't believe story matters much, each one just has improvements to the weapon system.
