What would you say are the top ten absolute must have applications? This excludes giants like Photoshop. I'm talking small apps such as EditPlus, mIRC, IM progs, those size of things.

Well?

AIM+ is a very cool app. It takes out the ads, offers logging, multiple instances, and transparency. It is also stable, I would say more so than normal AIM.

My vote for MyIM. I like the way it logs the history, even though it cuts it off at 64kb like AIM+ does; you don't have a separate folder for everybody.

The only useful thing about it is i see who i talk to most often... it kind of intrigues me every half year or so. Plus, it's a very stable program.

Free Tools: (probably most are mentioned already)

1.) Daemon Tools - Virtual DVD/CD drive for .iso, .bin/.cue, etc.
2.) Sasami 2k - Video Player. A little buggy, but nothing beats it IMO...
3.) Grabit - I used to be a Newsbin guy, but Grabit is my NNTP tool of choice now.
4.) AdAware - Clean those cookies, man.
5.) Mozilla 1.0 - Once you change, you just cannot go back...
6.) Motherboard Monitor - Keep those temps checked.
7.) Winamp - A given...

Pay Tools:
8.) ACDSee - Although I'm getting a little tired of it now.
9.) Nero - A no-brainer.

Really, not much else I use on a daily basis...
