I have an XBOX that I've barely touched. Looking to start using it. What are the top ten games you would recommend.

My fav XBOX game is Far Cry Instincts, Burout Revenge and Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay

 
I haven't used my xbox much either (bought in January, it's my only modern game console unless you include Dreamcast). I wasn't sure what to get, so went for the budget titles ($5~$20 new/used) in hopes of getting lucky.

Panzer Dragoon Orta is a good shooter with uniquely designed excellent graphics and great soundtrack.

Mad Dash Racing, although it hasn't gotten great reviews, I think is lots of fun. Think Mario Kart, but with foot racing on 1 long track (no laps) per stage, a techno\rock soundtrack (provided by some big names like Moby, Fatboy Slim, etc), and a much crazier style (360's through tunnels, sudenly going from racing, to swimming or skiing down a slope, and then back to racing again). It's also 4 player compatible

I've played some Project Gotham racing and it seems like a good game, and some House of the Dead 3 which seems good too. The next game I wanna sink my teeth into is Onimusha- think Resident Evil with samurai and Japanese monsters.

If you have any interest in sports games, I found NBA Live 2002 easy to get into.

Cool, thanks everyone. The only games I have were bought back when I bought the unit. I have Midway Arcade Treasures, and Silent Hill 4. I'm an old school gamer who grew up when Mortal Kombat was in its heyday. This is why I bought the Midway Arcade Treasures. I bought Silent Hill because I remember it from the original playstation, but it's sort of boring. I'll try out these games.

After that I'd include: Jade Empire, Forza Motorsport, Fight Night, any of the EA or ESPN sports games are good cause its 4 player standard, so Madden, NHL, Tiger Woods are all a blast. Halo 2 is pretty fun multiplayer, but as a shooter its pathetic compared to PC shooters. Far Cry or HL2 (soon) are much better for a single-player FPS (unsure on Far Cry multiplayer).

 
doesnt really look like a top 10 list, but stuff i liked: burnout 3, psychonauts, sid meiers pirates, prince of persia: sands of time, prince of persia warrior within, xmen legends

Halo and Halo II are musts. MotoGP II is cool. Mechassault, I didn't really dig. Tiger Woods 2005 is the bomb, MUCH better than the PC version which has a really screwed up version of the swing control which I DIDN'T enjoy at all. There's always Doom 3. Ummmm..... Sudeki is a kinda cool RPG but I'm not so much into those so I'm not really qualified to comment. Any of the Tony Hawk games is a kick to play for awhile.

well your very wrong : ) anyways xbox has been underrated by alot of people. they only see halo and halo isn't the best xbox can offer

Yep..Jade Empire, Forza, and Fight Night have to be up there.

Underrated? When most of the top10 lists contain sports games and pc ports, I don't see how wrong anyone possibly is. It's funny, for such a hyped console, people have a really tough time coming up with a decent top 10 list. Everyone must be too busy running their Xbox has a media PC.
 
I've enjoyed these for a while... as in they haven't made me bored.

Forza
Mercenaries (kinda boring, but fun to blow stuff up)

If you want a fun multiplayer game you should try the latest WORMS game...

I have such a hard time choosing between my top 10 (it'd end up being a top 15-20), so I'll list a top 5 (in no particular order):

Ninja Gaiden
KotoR
Burnout 3
Halo
Splinter Cell: PT


Fairly well-rounded, I'd say. Toss in DoA: U and you're set for quite a few genres.
 
Ninja Gaiden, Halo 2, Halo.

If I'd played any other games, I'd have an opinion of them. (I dont play/buy a game till I know its good)
