Top 10 Car Fuel Misers...

One of the cars I was considering recently was the Jetta TDI. 49mpg kind of made me drool. But I ended up getting a 2003 Envoy.

I don't think the VW's and Mini are ugly cars IMHO chiwawa626.

So, when people buy them they can truly feel like they are getting something unique. How much fun could it be to get a car that gets over 50 M.P.G. and looks like a sports car? If it looked too sporty, you'd have your foot on the gas the whole time - eating away at that good gas mileage number. And, with the car being so ugly, your going to drive slower and refrain from being the center of attraction because you don't want to be seen in something so ugly.

By American, I suspect you mean that it's not a Ford, GM or Chrysler vehicle. However, keep in mind the following:

1) Chrysler is owned by Daimler-Chrysler - a German company.

2) Some of the cars on the list are assembled in America. Their parent companies may not be American, but at least they were assembled here.

1) Indeed.

2) Just because they are assembled here does not mean they're Domestic automobiles. It's all in the design.... Obviously... or Detroit would have been producing better cars 20 years ago.

eh, so how are the emissions on the desiels now. its been the drawback for a while, its not all about mpg.
