Just felt like tooting my own horn because I was designated Driver tonight. Took 8 people home who were so wasted they could barely stand ( 2 trips of 4 ).

Here is how my friends repay the DD. The DD gets free pool, darts, and non-alcoholic drinks for the night. Good deal to me :D Only thing that worred me, is I had a rifle in my truck when I was bringing someone home, because he did not want to leave it in his truck. I was worried what would have happened if i had gotten pulled over, because I do not have a permit ( although this guy does ) the gun was locked up in my bed lockbox, so there was no way I could have gottent o it, but the first words out of my mouth to an offer would have been "I have a gun in the bed of my truck, so I may have been in trouble right there, but thankfully, I was not pulled over, so all was good. I must have saw a good 20 cops with poeple pulled over, so it was foremost on my mind.

Everyone have a DD! Free drinks is a small price to pay. You all have a good Thanksgiving! Don't forget to give thanks for your friends!

Last time I was a DD, the cops were yelling at me, because I let other people, who were older than me, drink.

:disgust:

Always good to hear that there is a DD. Saved my but a couple of times. Best part of being the DD, knowing the next time out you don't have to worry about being DD.

Sounds like a responsible (and rewarding) thing to do. Just think this way: you potentially saved at least 8 people from getting killed tonight.

And a Happy Thanksgiving to you too :D

That's funny. It reminded me of when I was stationed at Fort MacArthur. I checked out an M-14 to take to the firing range. I got lazy and carried it around on the back seat of my GTO for 2 weeks.

I am usually the DD also because I don't drink and I care about my friends. We didn't party tonight so we didn't have to worry about it. We did however get pulled over in my friends 93' ford tempo POS. The muffler fell off and he was doing 40 in a 30. Cop didn't say anything about speeding because he must not have been clocking but he cared about the muffler. He ran all of our drivers licenses and just gave my friend a verbal warning.
