Tools for trying to fix a fixed pixel on a laptop screen?

So I just received my sister's new laptop and there's a pixel that's stuck on red...I know I've seen apps/tools that try to help you fix it, can anybody suggest something?

This is the only way I have run into. A red pixel is probably stuck, and this technique may work.
