guys this is really weird
a client of mine does not have any toolbar at all when he clicks on my computer on my documents (or any folder within) on windows 2K (when I say no toolbar, I mean no address bar, no buttons , no menus (file, view, help...)

if he opens explorer, the menus are there.

I tried about everything and i cannot find how to get them back

any idea?

Hmm, so it only hapens when he's in the "open" interface, rather than the "explore" interface...that's odd.

What happens when he hits the alt key and then something like F (which should bring up the file menu)?

If he's in explorer and right clicks a folder and selects Open, does the resulting window have menus?

Try going into the Folder Options, and on the view tab hit "reset all folders" and see if that fixes it.

pretty screwed up....
Atl F4 which should close the window does not do it
I tried t go to folder options throu control pannel and reset the options...didn't do anything either
oh well
I just copied all files and recreate the user....
That worked
I just wish I had found the real solution to the problem
oh well
thanks for the help
cheers
