Like the phillips portion of the screwdrivers, are they all the same? I work with someone who claims this Toshiba screwdriver of his that he owns (Toshiba no longer sells this) is one of the best because of how it's made and it isn't like other no. 1 screwdrivers out there.

Any truth to this? I'm thinking a no. 1 by Snap On would be just as good if not better.

#1 Philips is a #1 Philips. And yes, there should be a difference between your cold-steel forged craftsman and the $.99 screwdriver at Target.

You got ripped off. There's a bucket of cheezy craftsman screwdrivers at my local hardware store for $.50 each.

I own several sets of Snap-On screw drivers.
The size is the same, the quality isn't.

There IS however a type of "Phillips" screw driver that is different. It's called a Reed and Prince. Basically it's like a Phillips but with a sharp point at the end.

Difference in the quality,no doubt.

This is more apparant in #0,and #1 size.

Torx are more forgiving in high torque useage.

The R&P also has some ribs in between the 4 cross pattern.
