Tookie Williams, co-founder of the LA Crips gang is set to be executed December 13th. Now, me asking for you guys to help someone like him out may seem far fetched, but if you have looked into his past, ever since he was in prison, he's been helping youth get away from gangs. He even got Snoop Dogg to drop out of the Crips and help young people (he currently finances a youth football camp) He's wrote children's books and inspired numerous foundations to help the urban youth.
because he's used up all his appeals, he's asked the governer of california, schwazenegger (spelling?) for clemancy. Please, PLEASE, prove to the governer that the system works by showing your love and respect for someone who can turn a complete 180: form hardened gang member to caring child supporter. Helping children get out of gangs and staying away form gangs was never part of his punishment or incarceration, but he did it anyways. He wanted to make sure young people didn't end up the way he did. This truely shows the error of his ways. I think he's been in prison for 40 some odd years now (don't quote me on this, guessing).
So please, write to the governer of california asking for lienency in his decision. support the system people who become good because of it.

I formerly request that Mr. Stanly "Tookie" Williams be pardoned for his crimes. Since his incarceration in 1981, he has shown numerous attempts of righting his wrongs, be it from the murders or his life as a Crip gang member. I refer you to the website at the bottom of this page. It details the speculations in the murder trial of Mr. Williams. The evidence presented, which ultimately led to the incarceration of Mr. Williams was circumstantial. In fact, the fingerprints lifted from the crime scene were not matched to Mr. Williams at all.
Regardless, his efforts have helped youth today in a way no one could have expected. This alone has proven he is devoting his life to preventing youth violence and involvement in gangs and gang-related activities. Heaven knows youth of today are under more and more pressure from gangs and drugs, but with someone like Mr. Williams helping them see the error of these ways, they can be touched far deeper than from a guidance councilor or other school administrator. I was astounded by news of the ?Choking Game? and feel things have gone too far. The days when your father could sit you down on his knee and say ?this is wrong, you need to stop? are over. I always paid more attention to the convicted criminals who were made to lecture our elementary and high schools on the danger of their actions than from anything the principal had to say. If Mr. Williams is spared, he could do so much more good for my generation than he ever could dead.
I personally would congratulate Mr. Williams for turning his life around without fear of violence or negative behavior. Isn?t that what the system is trying to do, what it was always meant to do? Correct the incorrect, and release them back into society? renewed, with a fresh view on life, and a positive example on society. Mr. Williams is the epitome of the system at work and it would be a downright shame and an error on your part, Gov. Schwarzenegger, to have all his knowledge and wisdom die with him.
So I request, nay, I beg you to consider what we?d be losing if you choose to give the go ahead. We?d lose the most important thing Americans hold dear: freedom. And Mr. Williams holds the key to our youth?s freedom from the oppression of gangs. Don?t lose our key. Please.
