Took the kids to the zoo today. . . .

took the kids to the zoo today, no major incidence. it took us longer than it should to purchase our memberships and then we didn't get to ride the Balloon as promised or the horses.

here's the thing. the whole day went without incident (which for us is pretty much the norm). and on the way home, i said to my wife, "the kids were good today". they were, no tantrums, no fighting, no scuffles, no complaining.

and she says to me "maybe they just lack initiative".

so what do you guys think, were my kids well behaved or are they just "whipped".

Maybe you should start beating and/or starving your kids, or you could just rejoice that you have well behaved children

Normal kids don't act like that. You need to reassess your beating policy and, perhaps, back off a little. Kids need to have fun and that means fighting, screaming, whining and complaining.

DHS has been notified.

ok, mb i didn't make my point clear.

i believe my kids are the way they are because of how we raised them. but lately my wife has been wondering if mb they need a little more gumption, initiative.

she wonders if mb they are a bit too passive.

me, i'm happy with how they turned out.

Sounds like you both have the best interests of your kids well in hand. I could never accuse a child of being too well behaved. I only visit zoo's on school days for that very reason.

's for both of you (after bedtime, of course).

that's a pretty tough question to answer based on a description of one day at the zoo.

my kids are 8, 5 and 4.

yes, presence it is the philly zoo. pretty nice zoo as far as zoo's go.

overall, my kids are well behaved. my wife really does sometimes wonder if mb they are a little too well behaved. she doesn't mind if they talk back to her a bit. me, i don't allow for it.

As it should be. . .kids shouldnt not be walking over their parents. Maybe as teens, well. . . no actually, not even as teens. 🙂 Good strong arm parents is what America needs more of. Atleast you are involved in their life, unlike a majority of parents in this country. Good on you.
