my parents have a house on the river, and a small boat that my dad and i took out today

pics are of the bridge construction, a couple of the downtown/waterfront area near where i live (and a railroad tressel near that area), a small yorkshire terrier that belongs to my parents, and a hideous boxer/bulldog mix that belongs to my sister.

also we gunned the boat at some birds on the water so i took pics of them taking off and i took a pic of the sun that turned out kinda neat

Nice pics. Watching major construction projects go up is pretty cool. I could watch construction workers all day, some of the machines and methods used are very fascinating.

Maybe I should become a foreman. :p

I made a pretty good living sitting on my ass watching other people work...:D
As a crane operator, that's about what I did...even though most of the time, they couldn't have done their jobs without me.

I've quit a couple of good jobs when they tried to force me to be a foreman. Too many headaches, not enough extra pay.

I drove a bit of pile in my career. Personally, I hated it. Loud...loud...loud...whole fucking rig shakes.

I worked less than one shift for FlatIron's Kahleeforneeya division, FCI. What a bunch of fuck-ups with junk equipment. I climbed in the crane, (40 ton hydraulic) lowered the arm rest with controls down to working position...and it fell on the floor. They expected me to tie it to a 4x4 with a piece of wire and work.

I turned the crane off, grabbed my lunchbox and thermos and headed for my truck.

The foreman hollered at me and asked where I was going?

"Back to the hall, " I told him. "Life's too short to run junk equipment."

I was on another job at 7 am the next day...they didn't get a replacement operator for 3-4 days...and he only lasted a couple of days before he told them to fuck off.

Thats a crazy looking bridge...

I've been watching the Hoover Dam bypass for the last 3 years...its an amazing undertaking seeing a bridge built OVER the dam and almost 1000ft over the river. Whats really neat is each side of the bridge is being built by each state (AZ and NV) and they have flags up on the arches as they go up.

That is going to be one hell of a bridge.

It is a shame they had to build it so close to the dam though, takes away from the damn IMO.

Great view. It's good to see construction work going on especially at a place like that. Is that new bridge part of a major highway?
