So National Airlines had this $1 each way ticket thing going for 9/11, and a friend and I were able to get in on the deal.
I called my babe in the morning and told her I'd taken the day off work to run some errands and that I had a surprise for her and asked if she wanted to meet at her place for lunch. I grabbed McDonald's and we had lunch at her house. We finished eating and I said it's time for your surprise, let's go.
She was kinda confused and told me we had to hurry cuz she had to get back to work before her lunch break was over. We're at a stoplight when she turns to me and asks, "Where are we going?"
"Las Vegas."
(long silence....)
"You're serious, aren't you?"
"Yep!"
(long silence...)
"Wow..."
I'd called her boss and arranged for her to have the afternoon off, so we flew out to Las Vegas, rode the roller coaster at New York New York, ate dinner at the Venetian, and flew home.
She assures me I earned lots and lots of points with that.
