I was wondering why it was taking so long to get the "your order has shipped" e-mail now I know, amazon's supply chain management has hit the tank...or maybe I'm a spoiled brat from newegg's "it gets out the door the same day" luck I've had...

But seriously, is this what we've come to expect from our online retailers? for shame amazon, for shame.

The best part is they sent it USPS so it's not getting here until monday...kinda makes things more expensive for me if I want to get this crap out the door in time for the holidays...

are you sure it was sent by amazon and not one of the other companies they deal with?
i hate how they do that now.

It was this book it says it is shipped and sold by amazon and "In Stock" I figure if it's in stock all you have to do is get it off the shelf and send it...and if it takes you 4 days to find a stack of books on a shelf something is f'ed up at your warehouse.

if you used free shipping you have no damned right to complain. they state upfront it will take longer, and in fact it did. good for them.

yep, if you did super saver it will take a bit longer.
if you need them quickly, don't be cheap.

If you want some serious fucknuttery, I ordered three books, two were preorders and the other was in stock. Did the free shipping deal. After about a month, they ship the first preorder book. A week later, the second preorder book. The one that was in stock is no longer in stock and wouldn't be shipped out until late Febuary. WTF?! If they were gonna ship them seperately they could've gone ahead and shipped out the one while they actually had it.

I thought it meant that it would just take a few more days in transit...I have every right to complain...I use the cheap stuff @ newegg, zipzoomfly, just about everywhere else and they manage to get it out in at most two days...

I ordered a DVD special on 11/18, got an email on the 4th of Dec asking me to confirm it is ok so ship it later than expected. Their estimated shipdate is no Christmas Eve. I dont have high confidence that will happen as the email said if I dont reply by the 5th of January it will be cancelled.

Nothing like taking 1.5 months to ship a DVD.

Heh, those of us that are Amazon affiliates can see how long it takes items to ship. Basically, it is either 1-2 days (overnight/second day shipping), 7-10 days (super saver), or essentially never.

3. Funny thing is, I ordered two books last sunday night, used super saver, and they shipped that night ( didn't know they shipped late sunday nights :))

They tell you that for Super Saver Free shipping "your order will take an additional 3 to 5 days to ship."

...except when it doesn't.
I ordered something from Amazon on the 9th. Super Saver free shipping. They said it wouldn't arrive until the 22 so I had it shipped to the place where we'll be for Christmas. ( "Shipping estimate for these items: December 14, 2006 Delivery estimate: December 21, 2006 - December 22, 2006").

It shipped on the 10th and was delivered on the 11th. You can't win.

I've been buying stuff from Amazon for a few years. I always use the free shipping. I've placed two orders this month, and I noticed with both of them it took longer to ship then I have experienced in the past with them. I'm not angry with them, as things still arrive within the stated time frame. In the past (both at Christmas time and not), my shipments usually were on the way in 24 hours. My latest 2 orders, both took 3 days. Perhaps they are trying to make the free shipping level less appealing, or maybe my shipments took longer b/c of the holiday rush. Either way, they got me my stuff within the time frame they listed, so I'm ok with that.

There's always been a 5 day delay minimum for me. When they ship out of Sparks, NV though, it's next day once they do get around to shipping it.

i ordered something on Saturday using the cheapest shipping. Not the free stuff. The package has been in forest park Il since Monday. it is being delivered to Milwaukee. it is about a 2 hour drive between the 2 places. It wont be delivered till at least tomorrow. that pisses me off so much. newegg would have had it here the next day if it was that close even with the free shipping. its crap like this that makes me want to stop using amazon. if only they didn't have the cheapest prices on some things. i understand they want people to pay for the more expensive shipping, but its stupid to hold packages like that just to screw people.
