Took a Ridgeline out for a spin yesterday.

I'm sure they ride nice, but alot of people find them ugly. They look as if they would fall apart if subjected to any real work.

They do look better in person then on print.

I'm not really surprised that you liked it - all of Honda's vehicles are nice to drive.

honda is 0 for 2 in styling recently in my book with the element and the ridgeline

(i drive a prelude and love hondas)

but expect to see a lot of these on the road replacing domestic trucks.

Isn't that the same thing they said about the Titan?

The Titan was designed to challenge the fullsize market, IIRC. Honda knows not to bother trying to get a piece of that until they've got a better plan for an V8 than "Weld together two CRV I4s" 🙂

As DougK62 mentioned, they look much better in real life. I didn't get a chance to actually "tow" anything comparable, but we hooked up a dead Accord on a trailer and it pulled really nicely even with the extra weight. Rode nicely over the bumps on the backroads (the one upside of living on the Canadian Shield) and eerily quiet inside.

I'll try to get some Real Life pics.

I'll give you the Element, but after seeing it in person, the Ridgeline gets a thumbs up.

yes

do people really have no qualms about paying so much for something so ugly ? There's a reason why the econoboxes are ugly... but come on... this isn't chump change...

For $30k, I'll take a nicely equipped Dodge Ram quad cab w/ a Hemi .. And have a real truck in the end.

I can imagine it looks better in real life, so I'll reserve judgement. However, your definetely right about it stealing sales from the dumbestics. And the Titan has, and will continue to as well.

You can get a fully loaded Titan for less then the equivelant GMC or Chevy. I just like the styling of the GM trucks better, too bad they want such a premium for them.

well, for $30k, i got the base Ford F250 w/ crew cab, 4WD, and a 6.8L V10 at an MSRP of $29,645, invoice of $26,636.

for ridgeline, i selected base and added no options. MSRP of $28,215, no invoice provided.

im not sure about anyone else, but i think i'd go for that ford if i were hauling stuff around. for an everyday driving, foreign trucks and crappy domestic ones are fine. if you wanna haul though, domestic is the way to go

Definitely the ugliest pickup hack job I have ever seen...I would never buy one, plus you don't get anything, for your money besides plastic and a honda emblem.

Funny, the Element is one of the few Honda designs that I think is alright.
I would expect to see the Ridgeline replacing domestic trucks driven by people who really don't need a truck.
