Took it at about 3pm, went to class at 5, still wanted to fall asleep. It's now 8:30 and I'm starting to feel a little tired..(I slept from 2-9 last night, which is a little less than normal but not abnormal). It's a CVP Stay Awake Tablet which I got at 7-11. Are some people resistant to caffeine or something?

Edit: Hmm, it's 3:30 am and I can't sleep. Guess it worked after all :)

I think it can vary from person to person, as i'm somewhat sensitive to caffeine in general.

If I have more than 2-3 cups of coffee, I start to feel dizzy and sick to my stomach.

Caffeine doesn't seem to work on me, neither does sominex. I was experiencing uber insomnia for a while and nothing seemed to help.

Umm... I wouldn't think that caffeine would help insomnia.

I don't know if people are naturally resistant to it, but I think caffiene is one of those things that you can build resistance to...ie, it works for a while, then wears off unless you take a larger dose.

I never touch the pills, though I do drink a lot of soda. My girlfriend uses the pills (don't know if they're the same ones or not) once in a while, and last time she over did it a bit. Taking the good old American attitude that if some is good more must be better, she took two in an attempt to stay up and finish a lot of homework. It worked, sort of...She stayed awake, but for a while her hands were shaking too bad for her to be able to get anything done :p . I think she learned a lesson that night.

I can drink 80 cokes in a day but Caffeine pills just mess me up. I took one early in the morning before a final exam and I could feel my heart beating in my chest during the whole thing while my arm was twitching...can't do it anymore

I got a reaction like that from non-drowsy dimeatap once...not fun. Stuff kept me up for 24 hours straight and I could feel my heart try to jump out of my chest the entire time. No more dimeatap (or caffiene pills, for that matter) for me, thanks.

what works for me the best is to take a caffeine pill (200mg is nothing btw... considering that most 200mg caffeine pills don't actually have 200mg of caffeine) but i take the pill and take a nap for about an hour or two... wake up and i'm god for another 24 hours easy :) YMMV, it works for some of my friends, not all :p

eh, if the caffeine pill says it contains 200mg.. it contains 200mg.

I don't really consider 200mg to be a lot.. that's like a strong cup of coffee or a tripple latte. I usually take two 200mg pills if I want to stay up.

Ever heard of a Turbo Truffle?

We ate 7 of them each once. 150 x 7 = 1050mg. :Q

It was.. a trip.. to say the least. I don't really recommend it, lol.

The smell of coffee wakes me up initially, but caffenated drinks in general don't seem to do anything.

caffine doesn't keep an exhausted person awake. people expect too much from it.

of course there are always hypersensitive little whiners:)

WTH man... I can't do that.. my 15-30 minute naps end up being 3-5 hours sleep binges and when I get up, a whole lotta cusses go through my head, because I wanted to "rest my eyes" fore a few moments.

*shaking head*
Don't listen to this guy dude :p .. take the pills.. drink the coffee... drink the coke... no naps... I rest my case ;)

theres also a point where you max out, so taking more and more is pointless. you'll pass the effect you want and skip over to nausea:)
