Too weird....

This started yesterday... I have never seen anything like it and neither has Google.... When I try to visit a web page via either the Run box or the Favorites menu, I get the following error message:

Windows cannot find MakeAngry.exe.

This program is needed for opening files of tyoe 'URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol:'

Then it asks for the location of "MakeAngry.exe".

I have run a complete scan with SpySweeper and it comes up clean.

Anyone here ever heard of this?

It doesn't happen every single time. Just a few times out of dozens. And there is nothing else weird happening on the machine. If it was a virus, wouldn't there be some other symptoms too?

What exact antivirus software are you using? You may want to supplement it with a manual McAfee scan in Safe Mode as well. instructions <-- right-click > Save As and follow the directions. Remember to scan in Safe Mode.

If your antivirus software is old-generation stuff or free stuff, you might want to uninstall it and try a 30-day trial of Kaspersky: http://www.kaspersky.com/trials and make sure you go to Threats & Exclusions and opt for the Extended Databases. Free is good and it uninstalls cleanly if you decide not to buy.
