Recently, I noticed that there is a performance change on my games and specially on benchmarks because there is a high performance drop on my benchmarks specifically on lost planet II and resident evil 5...
but back then, benchmarks of these games were consistent and is better than my previous GPU which is the 4890..
I'm only puzzled as to why do i have performance hits? on Skyrim and splintercell conviction also... i thought it had to do with my previous processor which is a phenom II X4 920 @ 2.8ghz because of its temps that it reaches 67c while i'm gaming, so i thought that it had something to do with the temps because the hotter it gets it downclocks to a slower speed right? so what I did was i sold my X4 then i got myself an X3 then overclocked it to 3.68ghz..
so here are the specifics: RE5 bench
x4 @ 2.8ghz @ 1440x900 with my 4890 at max settings and AA i get around 80+ fps
then at my 460 @ 725mhz on same setup and settings i get 87fps as far as i remember.. this was back then... then i tried testing last month with the 460 on the same settings i get just around 64fps.. i just couldn't remember if i had already undervolted my 460 back then when i was testing...
x3 @ 3.68ghz @ 1600x900 with my 460 @ 780mhz, no motion blur, AA is set to 4x (16x before) then the rest set to high, i just get 84fps...
right now my 460 runs on 0.925v @ 780mhz... do i really have a hardware issue? driver? or too much undervolting?
I can't test my computer now because I only go home during the weekends and i stay in a dormitory during the weekdays because of work. I would really appreciate your insight toward this matter..
thanks!
