Too much air suck?

I just installed a slot cooler in a Dell 8400, imagine that installed 3 spaces below at 6800 video card. Dell also has a squirrel cage type blower fan on the left side which is vertical blowing out the back. There are no temp monitors other then the 6800 temps. The ambient went down by 6C but I noticed my idle now went up by 2-3C. Is is possible that the 6800 isn't getting enough air, too much airflow going to the other 2 fans?

You want air going out the vents, not in. See if you can reverse some of the fans so that they are blowing air into the computer, not sucking air out.
