Too hot?

I bought 2 18CFM NMB fans and put 1 in my PSU and 1 as a case exhaust.

My ASUS A7V (KT133) with 800MHz tbird shows MB temp of 39 celcius, and a temp probe in the PSU shows the air is 48 celcius.

These are load (prime95) figures.. too hot, or OK?

My 1.33 GHz T-Bird regularly runs at 58-60C. You really don't have anything the worry about.

Many people don't realize it's rated for 75C, though I wouldn't run it that hot myself.

Keep in mind, those tbird temps are taken with a thermistor below the cpu (unless you're measuring with an aftermarket probe) and not a thermal diode in the cpu core. That said, my oc'ed tbird runs 54-57 24/7. 🙂

The thing I would worried about in your case might be your hard drives. If they are not in a vented bay or have a fan on them you might be baking them. I think most HDs have a max temp of around 55c. If you HD is smart capable you may want to test its temperature with a program like DTemp.

As for your case temperatures, if it is stable then dont worry about it all that much. If you get the opportunity, at least one more NMB couldnt hurt though.

Also, Are you sure that NMB is enough for your PSU? Is that the only fan in it?
