Hello,
I appreciate your fast response to my ad regarding the 2000 Honda Accord SE
As you've seen from the pictures my honda is in perfect condition. It
has no rust or dents and it's accident free. If you want to see the
CarFax report I can provide it for you. Here is the VIN
Number:jhmcg5675yc026337. My asking price is $3500. I'm only selling it so cheap
because I need to sell it asap due to some personal problems.

Because I don't have a lot of spare time I have appointed Safe Vehicle Sell (www.safevehiclesell.com) to handle the transaction for me.

car to your location. At this time the honda is at their office in
fort lauderdale, FL.
The transaction will be made only by using the terms stated above.
If you are interested and you have the money available, please register
an account Safe Vehicle Sell and get back to me with the e-mail address
you used to register (registration it's free and they won't ask for
sensitive personal details). As soon as I hear from you I will initiate the
transaction and after that they will handle everything.
After we agree on the terms they will deliver the car to your

Safe Vehicle Sell.com doesn't even have an Alexa rank, which means it's brand new and thus basically a scam. The guy could have created the site as a way to get people's $$ and not actually give the car (which he probably doesn't have anyhow)

I'd say without a doubt it's a scam.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

No one from Ft Lauderdale, FL will try to sell that car on a Tennessee craigslist. Any sort of "pay me now and I'll ship it from xxxx place" on craigslist is a SCAM. Caigslist is for local sales.

At the top of the cars for sale page is a bold and colored link
"ALERT - offers to ship cars/trucks are fraudulent"
http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams.html

This is the first bullet point
DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON - follow this one simple rule and you will avoid 99% of the scam attempts on craigslist.

This is the last bullet point
# AVOID DEALS INVOLVING SHIPPING OR ESCROW SERVICES and know that ONLY A SCAMMER WILL "GUARANTEE" YOUR TRANSACTION.

Why would someone sell the car through a private source for less money than going to CarMax or something similar and have more money in 15 minutes?

What he meant to say is no one would LEGITIMATELY try to sell ...

If that car were to really be for sale it would sell in an hour locally at that price. Craigslist can be a great place to buy stuff ... or not. It's a very frustrating place to conduct business sometimes. I successfully purchased a Lexus from a local seller and I was very happy with the deal. I've also bought a cell phone and Macbook and were pleased with those transactions as well.

Unfortunately the place is a minefield laden with scammers. i just saw a laptop for sale at a fair price. I emailed and the next day got an email from the seller stating it was still available but it was in the UK. How stupid can a scammer be? His price wasn't even that good.

Run, don't walk from this "deal" ...

If you get a friggin story back with a non local user, ditch it. Do you even have to ask whether this is a fraud or not?

Oh yeah. Tell the guy that you have a friend in Ft Lauderdale and he'll check the car out and make the transaction. I bet you'll get another twist to the story.
