too early to start building for the peryn (wolfdale/yorkfield) line?

I haven't built a pc in a long time and am looking to build myself another rig. I am waiting to see how the new Intel's perform since they are right around the corner... If there's a better overclocker than the current q6600 g0.

My question is, what parts can I buy now that will work with the new chips? If any. (trying to take advantage of any xmas deals that come about...)

I'm not talking about the obvious parts that will work.... atx case, vid card, hdd, sound, dvd/cd, etc. The parts I am concerned with are RAM, MOBO, heatsink, and PSU.

I plan to get a P35 board. I like the abit p35 pro board, but I am not sure if it will support the peryn line. It states it natively supports the 45nm cpu's, but not the peryn line explicitly... Is there another pre-nehalem intel platform that i should wait for?

I'm pretty sure the heatsink should stay the same since it's still LGA775, but i just want to make sure. Looking at the thermalright 120 extreme or whatever it's called.

Do the peryn's require DDR3? Will good quality oc-able DDr2 suffice?

I'm also pretty sure an ATX psu will be compatible. I don't see 2.3 coming out or Peryn requiring it, but I just want to make sure as well. Looking at the Corsair 620HX.

Any other advice for a potential peryn build will be great.

welp..

according to a few articles and other forums, peryn support for current boards isn't known yet. Most guess that some boards should work, but they don't know yet.

Plus a P35 board may not be optimal... Looks like the newer X38 line is better for it, but DDR3 ram is expensive... Wonder how a peryn will do with DDR2 1066 or even 800 since supposedly the X38 is backwards compatible.

So I'll probably hold off on the cpu/mobo.

That leaves me with a PSU (Corsair 620HX) and heatsink (Thermalright ultra 120 extreme). It seems that I can buy these items now for a potential peryn build. Is that a correct assumption?

ANY advice would be wonderful....

Beside some small variation in Memory prices that some time can go a little up, all other components always go down with time.

So there is No point buying any thing ahead.
