Everybody knows that ATI's cards run hot, loud and pull a lot of power, but honestly..

HEAT: If your cooling sucks so bad in your case that you are having problems from a card that raises the temp in your case to the point where it would damage other parts.. then you need to install a case fan or 2.. Don't like a hot card? Get a new cooler.

Noise: Well.. you have a point there. ATI sounds like a jet engine. Most of Nvidia's coolers are nice, but I wish they would give the midrange catagory a little more love. 7600gt/7300 fans suck.

Power: Honestly, if you are running a x1900xtx and only have a 300w power supply, you might want to spread out your budget a little across the board. :)

Don't forget their sub-standard AA, Horrible drivers and the fact that they don't exist as a company anymore.....I'm not trying to start a flamewar or anything.

"Final" threads and ones like it always work and flames magically disappear in their wake.

Awesome idea, awesome!

Too bad Ati is spending too much money on hardware engineering and not enough money on marketing. The average consumer is more influenced by marketing than by hardware design, didn't they get the memo? ;)

Ok..
The the purpose of quoting as a post is.....?
I am not trying to start a flamewar, I like and use both brands. Both DO have their ups and downs but people draw attention to things that in my eyes are trivial.

Ati fanboys rant and rave about a few extra 3dmarks and 10fps in oblivion.
Nvida fanobys rant and rave about lower prices and "better drivers".

Post 2 more times then never post again.
?? Thanks for the helpful input. Great forums anandtech has here.. full of assholes :) GGZ all, remove my account :D

My X1900AIW is inaudible inside my case, and I'm not running deltas for fans in it either.
It also doesn't peak 75C while gaming or stress testing with the stock one slot cooler.

But, the PWM get hot as HELL. 90C+.

Don't forget, however, that they beat Nvidia in porno video games. Extremely important market there for ATI.

OP, don't take everyone's sarcasm so harshly--you have to look at the context you provided the information in. Simply put, there was no context. Normally, what your first post stated would be fitting for the middle or end of a conversation/thread.

Since you probably don't frequent Anandtech very much you should take into consideration in the future that Anandtech gets a lot of traffic and news can become old very quickly. The features/attributes of both products have been hashed and rehashed time and time again since the X1900 arrived on the market. The news wasn't very relevant considering G80 is ~week away.

Just thought I'd try and help you realize why your thread ended up the way it did.
