I think Tony tried to serve to miss him but the rear tires broke traction and the right rear tire struck Kevin Ward Jr.. I do not believe Tony would puposely strike another driver.

There are topics in OT and garage on this so you can see my whole view there.

Basically, at this point, you can't fault Stewart. The kid surrendered his safety when he exited his car and entered traffic during an active race. We may know more later on but that's my opinion today.

Why speculate on intent? It is way too soon. The videos are pixelated and there is nothing official out yet.

Basically, at this point, I completely fault Stewart. He's WAYYYYY too experienced to break the back end of his car loose like that while under caution. Of course he didn't mean to hit/kill Ward, but he damn sure was trying to send a message and he fucked up royally.

Welcome to the internet.

I think some believe that it was intentional. Others, myself included, are a bit offended by this idea because it demeans the sport of racing.

Citing experience to explain this is a fools errand. The kid was waaaaay too experienced (racing since 4) to have gotten out of a car in the middle of a race and ran into traffic.

See, its pretty dumb because citing experience alone doesn't explain what happened.

I'm still agreeing with this one, even if not with Stewart being completely at fault.

I do not watch NASCAR, but grew up going to dirt track races a lot.

The wife does though and she's a fan of his, so I'm well aware of his reputation as a hot head.

Kid was wrong for walking out there like that, but I'm pretty sure Tony was trying to teach him a little lesson and took it a bit too far.

What garbage. While the kid was stupid to do it that sort of thing happens all the time. Angry drivers who get driven into the wall by assholes have been charging onto the track to wave their fists at the idiot in question since people were racing chariots. And they manage to do it without getting run over. I deal with pedestrians EVERY DAY. People jaywalking, people on their cellphones while walking to their cars in busy parking lots, kids darting into the road chasing balls, etc. And somehow little old me, who doesn't have a racing license and more than 25 years of experience, manages to not mow down ANY of them. So tell me how Tony Stewart managed to hit a pedestrian while most of the worst drivers on earth manage not to. Are you trying to make the case that his driving skills are so bad that while under caution he can't avoid a pedestrian and has so little car control that he fails to grasp the concept of braking when taking evasive action rather and he doesn't understand that accelerating in that situation is going to kick the rear end directly toward what he claims he was trying to avoid? You entire argument hinges on the ridiculous idea that in more than 25 years of racing Tony Stewart has not learned ANYTHING about the physics of how a car behaves under acceleration.

And you said I posted garbage? None of that drivel has anything to do with a race track, let alone a dimly lit dirt track. I made no statement regarding Stewart's driving here so why are you arguing with a strawman?

Your entire argument hinges on the ridiculous idea that Tony Stewart throttled up and either lost control or meant for something to happen. That simply hasn't been proven.
