Yea, I saw the news yesterday.

I loved shopping at Zappos back in the day. Before they got bought out by Amazon. What I loved about Zappos was their awesome shoe catalogue 1-2 day VIP shipping (when it was not an industry standard. We are talking about 7-10 years ago now. And, most importantly their customer service which was legandary. If you needed to talk to someone you could find the customer service number fully displayed on Zappo's home page. The number wasnt't hidden like it was with most online businesses. Also, when you did call you could actually talk with a caring service rep. I remember talking to a rep for at least 30 minutes. That was unheard of back then. Zappos really set the bar high for that, and from what I've read the work environment was great. I'd like to buy Tony's book sometime soon. I've heard it's a good read.

The funny thing is that he shouldn't have been here. Connecticut has a travel ban going on right now.

It's not a funny haha thing (obviously), but more of a funny hmm thing.

I'll bet that he tried to deep-fry a turkey. It's not Thanksgiving in Connecticut without someone burning down their house in a turkey frying accident.

Saw a story about this on Inside Edition. He died because of house fire (smoke) at a garage/storage attachment of a house of a gal friend that used to work at Zappos. He had over 1 billion of dollars yet only had 2 pairs of shoes and was living in a 200 sq. ft. trailer with two dogs. Smart but oddly strange guy.

Investigation is still on going with the house fire.

I wouldn't mind living in an Airstream when I retire.
