Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PC) for $25 at Circuit City (4/7)

MSRP is $40, so I think that's pretty toasty. (Unfortunately, I picked it up a couple days ago for $35 at Beast Buy, so I'm have to get the PM.) It looks GREAT at 1024x768 with AA! Screw consoles!!! PCs RULE!!!

I really got into 2, and this is a great deal. BUT, I didn't even finish 2 yet, and there are so many games to play. Poor me 🙁

Anyone actually have a review for this? I saw it at frys last week and was thinking of getting it since i dont have a next gen console too. Mainly because it says you can play online and all just like the PS2 but since we're pc's then there's no additional hardware for us.

My opinion is that some games are meant for pc's (Counter-strike/Max Payne/C&C) and some are meant for consoles (fighters and all). I dont know if a skateboarding game fits. 😉

I absolutely SUCK at console games. I got about a third of the THPS2 levels unlocked, but I can never seem to get my moves down.🙁 If you get the game, be sure to use the "Yohomies" cheat to get all the skaters, like Wolverine, Darth Maul and a hot Demoness. (Be sure to watch what the counter guy in the skate shop does as you switch skaters!)

Now if I could only play the dumb thing!!!!:|

Thanks for the review links defref. The pictures are INSANE and online multiplayer sounds like loads of fun! I may get this now. Anyone have a recomendation on a good controller?

You're welcome. I'm using an old M$ Sidewinder Gamepad and it's OK. I think my problem is I just suck at console stuff. I got a Dreamcast and an assortment of excellent games, but I just have too much trouble with the controls. Jeez, I can't even get out of the tutorial in Jet Grind Radio!!! LAME!!!!😱

Here's a few screenshots I snapped for this thread. It's tough to get good shots cuz I'm trying to hit the F11 key while fumbling with the controller. Notice the lighting. I dunno if it's the game or the GF3Ti200 making it so smooth.

I could never play Tony Hawk. I would just end up mashing buttons and somehow pull off a move. Best move I ever did was around 20,000 points.

What stores can I pricematch this too, because the two CC's near me don't carry PC games. I have a CompUSA, Staples, Best Buy, Office Depot and Office Max near me, which has the best price matching policy?

Thank YOU! Went to CC and picked up the LAST copy on the shelf....can't wait to fire this up, its installing right now. I just started playing tony hawk 2 again last week.....time to scrap that and play 3 🙂

I got my price match from BB yesterday. With the 110% plus tax, I got $11.66 back for an end cost of $37.09-$11.66=$25.43. Just buying it at CC would've been $26.49 (incl. tax), so I made $1.06 on the deal!

Now if I could only play the damn thing! I can't figure out how to grind the bucket in the foundry and I'm sucking in Canada AND the Rio competition. Ugh.
