^^^ You didn't post a link in your OP, so we didn't know which source you were or weren't using. The second post links to the 'Hoo, which is an aggregator, not an original source, so we still don't know.
 
And now we see that it was his own agent who made the original announcement.

A story saying Tony Dow had died was published based on an incorrect statement from his agent confirming the actor's death. The post from the agent has since been deleted. Los Angeles ABC station KABC has confirmed the agent's post was incorrect.



The 'media' can only report what it has been told. If the source information is wrong, what can they do?

Multiple other sources are saying he's in Hospice, which is basically the same as dead.
