Tonite's tweaking fun

I bought my C2D system a month & a half ago, but i am still tweaking things every few days (for fun mainly) 😀

My latest fun has been attempting to get TRAS down to a lower setting, since i've noticed others having success with that, especially with Team Xtreem memory.

E6400 @ 3402 MHz (7x486) 1:1 DDR2-972 4-4-4-4 🙂

(Lowest TRAS bios setting P5B has = 4)
She's only an hour and 20 minutes in now, but i hope i can get her to stay error free for a few more hours.

Looking good man. I like when you post your stuff cuz your system is close to mine as far as cpu/mboard is concerned.

I grabbed your settings off another post, not sure if you remember.

Curious. Have you run 3dmark01 or 06 on your system? Id like to see what you get.

I bet you'll have no problem setting the tRas=0 via MemSet. Out of curiosity, Does it have any effect on memory clocking? (i.e. higher tRas = higher frequency?)

You're likely right on getting it to 0 TRAS
I don't really feel any great desire to do Windows tweaks though, as i prefer stuff to be set via bios.

As for higher clocks, since i had previously just assumed it wouldn't get very low, i never bothered testing it lower till now, so i can't say.

I did run it @ DDR2-1050 5-5-4-4 last night, but Orthos blend crapped out after 45 minutes.
I think that was due to the TRP being set to 4 though, as it seems less stable whenever i have lower TRP than TCL & TRCD.

Hope my settings helped 🙂
And oh yes, i've run 3DMark enough
Too much likely.

This is an older 3DMark01 run with a bit higher than my current clocks:
E6400 @ 3.44 GHz (8x430) 4:5 DDR2-1075 5-5-5-10 (X1900 XT 512 MB stock)
41852

3DMark06 - 6101 (7900GTO stock HQ - E6400 @ 3.4 GHz Teamgroup DDR2-1063 5-5-5-10)
3DMark06 - 6280 (X1900XT stock - E6400 @ 3.4 GHz Teamgroup DDR2-1063 5-5-5-10)
3DMark06 - 6812 (7900GTO 713-799 HQ - E6400 @ 3.4 GHz Teamgroup DDR2-1063 5-5-5-10)

very nice...makes me want to get one of those C2D even sooner....3.4ghz on air ??? and i assume that ram is not the most expensive either, but the latencies look good. How's that cooler ? I assume it does its job when you get such a nice OC. loud ?

Heatsink: Big Typhoon
CPU: E6700
vCore: 1.36 Actual
Memory: Team Xtreem DDR2-667
vDimm:2.25

(3.6 GHZ, DDR2-1080 4-4-4-4)

Computer has long since passed me it was for a friend, ended up 12 hours orthos stable, but that is all I test.
4-4-4-4 is pretty easy to get stable under Conroe. I had 3-4-3-4 stable @ 420 mhz but it fails at 430 fsb where I am now. If I put a vNB mod on northbridge it would hold those timings.

Very nice results 🙂

Well, i bought the Team Xtreem DDR2-1000 stuff, but i shouldn't have, since you can get the same results or likely better with the DDR2-667 or 800 kits.

TT BT does a good job, & it's not loud at all.

65C Orthos load.

This is with 1.45V in bios, which translates to 1.42V idle/1.4V load in Windows.
