Tonight's Stargate: Atlantis Season Premier [09-28-2008]...

Welcome back Zim! And damn it, why is this airing Friday night? Not all of us Atlantis fans are devoid of lives. 😛

Spoiler: McKay does find a way to keep the shields up, because otherwise it'd make for a very boring season. 😛

Thanks yllus! I actually don't mind it being aired on a Friday night since I have to work on Saturday's 🙁 As for your spoiler... LOL! 😛

Yeah, it was quite the twist. McKay was for sure that he wasn't going to be able to do it and they were all screwed. But boy howdy he pulled it off at the last second.

Wait, Zim is alive? Damn hitmen, they can never get even the simple tasks correct.😛

I'm torn with SGA for at least the next few weeks though. The picture quality on SciFi is terrible, both the cable companies and satellite companies overcompress it to all hell, resulting in it being very murky. Now if I wait until Monday, I can catch the HD broadcast from the Canadian channels (which is absolutely beautiful), but it means being 3-4 days behind everyone else in having seen the episode and being able to comment on it. Decisions, decisions.

Oh, and I'm glad you're not including Flash Gordon listings on here. I've come to the conclusion not only does it suck, but that they're producing it so cheaply that kiddie shows like Power Rangers probably have a higher budget.:|

wow they just keep the plot twists coming don't they, never would expect that, McKay saving the day.....again.....and again....

Speaking of McKay, his first movie, A Dog's Breakfast is out. It's not worth the price that Amazon is charging for it, but if you can find it in the bargain bin or something it's worth it. It starts out slow but then picks up in the end, and listening to Beckett speak in a mid-Pacific American(i.e. Californian) accent is a riot.

I just wish it was aired at an earlier time so I didn't have to make the decision between Stargate and the bar. The bar won this time but its a long season....

It was a decent episode, but Episode 2 is much better.

You watched SGA season 4 first two without sound effects or music. Must of been pretty dull when the guy had to go boom for a explosion.

Oh, and the Doctor Who penultimate episode, The Sound of Drums is airing this week. If you can read this thread, you need to be seeing that episode!

It's a cliffhanger?! <profanity> <more profanity> <profanity so profane sailors start complaining>

This isn't fair, I can't wait another week.

Good episodes (Who & SGA), but I'm not looking forward to the nonsensical idea of Carter taking time away from research to hold down a desk job.

Who cares about adapting the Asgard tech? Pushing virtual paper is a much better use of one of the two leading scientists on Earth!

(Yeah I know, it makes ratings sense if not logical sense.)

It's more like it makes business sense. They had a 2-year contract with Amanda Tapping, they had to pay her for a second year no matter what, so they may as well make her work for it.

Interesting episode of Atlantis. And wow, the preview of of next weeks SG Atlantis has a twist for Weir!

No, it in fact it makes perfect logical sense in terms of a military career - her advancement in rank being contingent on taking a command. As such that would require more of a 'desk job' than research.

*Teal'c* Indeed.

Of course, not having seen what happens next week yet, I can only hypothesize... Weir is going to get Borg'd into the replicators, not like it matters since the replicators already probed human minds for all their info before. But I'm betting it will come back to play in future episodes... especially I can see Weir's "humanity" contaminating the replicators in a "Hugh" Third-of-Five kind of way, saving the day. But agian, I haven't seen what happens yet, so it's all pure speculation.

It was actually pretty funny. I must say, the full ep was much better than what I watched. I rarely think about the music when watching, but it can really make a show.
