Hi all,

My project for tonight is to refinish the plastic covers that go over my KC Daylighter driving lights. Awhile back, I posted this thread asking for ideas.

After examining the covers, and seeing the paint on the original "smiley face" is chipping off already, I determined that getting the rest off (and roughing-up the surface a little) wouldn't be all too difficult with the Orbital Sander and some 220-grit paper.

Tonight, I will cut the stencil out of cardboard, sand off the original smiley face and transfer the new design with Black Krylon S.P. Finish it off with a coat of clear polyeurethane for protection. Should be cool.

Oh, BTW, THIS IS WHAT THE NEW COVERS WILL LOOK LIKE :D

A far cry from THE OLD COVERS, HUH?

Hopefully, it turns out well. The only thing I'm worried about is "bleed over" from the edges of the stencil. I guess several light passes with the spray paint will be better than one heavy pass. Unfortunately, patience is not a virtue I was blessed with. I think I was in the restroom when God was giving out the patience.

Should turn out pretty nicely as long as the colors dont bleed over like you said. Good Luck.
