Academic copies.

Programs other than photoshop. . .

To photoshop something is a generic expression which actually means any alterning of an image through a digital image editing program - such as the gimp, Microsoft Imaging Suite, Paint Shop Pro, etc. . .

All of these are much cheaper than photoshop. . .
