Tonight's NBA Games

March is a good month for basketball. College conference tournaments going on right now before the big dance and the NBA season is winding down with each team fighting for the playoffs. I'm sure we'll have an NCAA thread soon but this one is for the NBA.

There are two games on TNT tonight starting at 8ET.

First the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the San Antonio Spurs in the battle of the two best teams with Spanish names.

Then, the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. the Phoenix Suns - see the big Shaqtus in action.

Watch and discuss! The first game should be fairly entertaining if the Spurs show up, great Laker offense against a pretty good Spurs defense.

The second game has potential again matching up a good offense vs a good defense.

hoping LAL/SAS is a good one, wish manu was playing. cant say im looking forward to the other game though

The only thing worse then Amare being out for the season is Manu still being out, but at least he'll be back and rested for the playoffs.

I'm a big Spurs fan but I doubt they can win. The Lakers have much more threats than the Spurs do. They won't be able to contain Duncan but hell who can and with no Ginobli still, Parker and Duncan are ganna have to have a BIG game and hopefully their supporting cast can keep up if they hope to win. The Lakers are ganna be tired from playing back to back games so who knows. Anything can happen.

after that spanking the blazers put on the lakers anything can happen...still, without ginobili, its a long shot for the spurs to win here. same with the amare-less suns against the cavs.

We should have a NBA Thread... we had a Mets thread ffs.
I hope the Spurs can win this... Pop needs to give Bowen some minutes on Kobe

He will for sure if the 4th is close.

Man, Duncan looks like he can barely jump. Rout so far it's only the 1st.

Spurs need to slow it down to their kind of game. Lakers are making it their pace.

Agreed.

The big cactus is fun to watch these days. You should see him in person.

I'd like to, especially considering he may only play another year.

I hope he doesn't play after this year. He's having a good year and hope he goes out on top. I don't like it when legendary players like him play and play forever then they get really bad and are just benched. I want to see him go out playing well.

Really missing Ginobili in this game...Nobody but Tony Parker can drive the ball - everybody else are just shooters.

Yeah that bothers me and I'd like to see him going out on top as well but at the same time if the player still enjoys playing then more power to him/her to continue on even if it isn't at the same level. Sucks for the younger viewers who sometimes catch them at the tail-end of their career though.

So far the lakers are playing great and the spurs terrible. I hope the rest of the game is more fun to watch.

Is that shotclock countdown sound a TNT thing or what? Never heard it before...

Sounds louder than usual. Probably a Stadium specific thing.

The Spurs are killing themselves. They are uncharacteristically turning it over and Parker is not playing as his usual self. Looks like it's another one of those Spurs games where they just play horribly.

Nash is killing the Suns by not setting up shaq more even tho shaq is shooting 60% for the season. Instead, nash and richardson usually take the most shots which doesn't cause foul trouble and doesn't make things easier for anyone else like it does when defenses collapse on shaq. Its no coincidence shaq's 'resurgence' came when nash was out because two of the games he got the ball non-stop.

Phoenix is a useless place for Shaq to play.

haven't been watching the suns too often this season but they ain't going nowhere if they switch to a feed-shaq offense.

8 point game going into the 4th quarter.

Now it's getting a much better game. Spurs are turning over less which is what they need. Kobe's getting a real good rest which is bad. He's ganna turn it on in the 4th like he usually does. Bowen covering Kobe.

The suns need to rebuild badly. Like jjsole said, Pheonix is no place for Shaq. Suns are done for the season anyways.
